Sony Alpha 7 IV features a
cMOS Exmor RTM sensor full-frame offering superior image quality and impressive speed. The use of copper wires allows faster transmission speeds and a more agile A/D conversion, while the quick reading of the sensor allows recording in 4K at 4:2:2 of 10 bits up to 60p. The sensor also improves color reproduction, low noise performance in all sensitivities and offers a dynamic range of 15 steps in photographs, as well as greater precision in the automatic approach and focal stability.

The engine
BIONZ XR, present in the Sony A1 and A7S III flagship models, offers an increase in processing speed up to
8 times higher. This engine focuses on real-time processing of functions such as automatic focus, image recognition and image quality, which minimizes processing latency and significantly increases photo and video processing capacity. To ensure a quick control response, the user interface, network and file management are distributed optimally, regardless of the real-time processing load.
Visually attractive image reproduction with low noise level
The combination of the new sensor 33,0 MP and the engine not only offers an increase in numbers, but also a notable improvement in visual quality. The results include a soft and natural appearance in the texture of human skin, stunning details in landscapes and views, and better color reproduction with improved algorithms. In addition, the ISO 100-51 200 standard sensitivity range can be expanded to ISO 50-204 800 for photos and ISO 100-102 400 for videos, keeping a low noise level across the range.
Softer gradation playback with 10-bit HEIF recording
Alpha7 IV supports photo encoding in HEIF format, which is added to the usual RAW and JPEG formats. The use of 10-bit depth minimizes the degradation of image quality when editing, and the soft 10-bit gradations offer a more realistic reproduction of colors, especially in the skies and in portraits. In addition, it can be recorded in HLG mode to display images with an extraordinarily wide dynamic range on Sony BRAVIA 4K televisions supported through an HDMI connection.
Top image quality with 4:2:2 of 10 bits
The A7 IV offers you a variety of video recording options. Your full pixel reading allows 4K to 60p recording, and the 7K full-frame over-sample produces a highly detailed 4K resolution when recording 4K videos at 30p. You can engrave internally on 4.2:2 of 10 bits, which provides more natural and complete gradations, as well as greater editing flexibility. In addition, the XAVC HSTM file format provides approximately double coding efficiency compared to MPEG-4 AVC/H.264.

S-Log to match the colors with professional video cameras
This device features the gamma S-Log2 and S-Log3 curves, the latter being able to capture more than 15 dynamic range steps. The S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3 color range settings.Cine easily match the image captured with the A7 IV to that of digital cinemas such as VENICE or FX6 and FX3. By capturing in S-Log, the original sensitivity is ISO 800, but can be reduced to two steps (ISO 200-640) to achieve a significant noise reduction.
